The Forsaken navy[4] (also known as the Forsaken Fleet)[5][6] is the maritime military force of the Forsaken. Its battleships were dredged up from the bottom of the ocean, most of them were once among Lordaeron's fleets,[4] while their catapults have been modified by the Bilgewater Cartel to be faster and more powerful.[7] The Windrunner Fleet is known for its contributions in the Horde navy's campaigns.
History
Wrath of the Lich King
During the war against the Lich King in 27 ADP, after a brutal confrontation between the Hand of Vengeance and the North Fleet in the Bleeding Vale,[8] the Windrunner Fleet was sent to bombard the Alliance survivors barricaded at the Derelict Strand.[9] Despite being hungry, injured, and ill-equipped, however, the North Fleet crews were able to board the fleet's ships.[10] On the orders of Captain Harker, the Horde adventurers were sent to kill the North Fleet Marines,[11] taking back the boats to destroy the Alliance cannons and win the battle.[12]
Cataclysm
Following the Cataclysm in 28 ADP, Warchief Garrosh Hellscream ordered Sylvanas Windrunner to invade the Gilneas peninsula, in order to use it as a port for the Horde in southern Lordaeron.[13]
When the Shattering destroyed the reefs defending the peninsula,[14] Duskmist Shore served as the main initial landing ground for the Forsaken fleet,[15] where two ships could be found under the command of Captain Morris and Captain Anson. The worgen adventurer was eventually sent to kill both captains, as well as Dark Ranger Thyala who oversaw the invasion,[16] while the Forsaken machinists and their catapults landed on the shore and began bombarding the Hammond and Allen Farmsteads.[17] However, more earthquakes soon destroyed the shores, sunking the Forsaken ships as well.[18]
After the destruction of Duskhaven, the Forsaken and Warchief's fleets approached the peninsula,[19] forcing the Gilneans to evacuate towards Stormglen Village, as Greymane Manor was vulnerable to Forsaken attacks from the sea.[20] Following the invasion, the 7th Legion and Gilneas Liberation Front launched a counter-attack, using submarines destroy the entire Forsaken fleet.[21]
During the Battle for Gilneas, Forsaken ships began the invasion of the Gilnean Coast, bringing troops to the Horde Landing.
Tides of War
Prior to the Attack on Theramore Isle in 30 ADP, Sylvanas Windrunner was expected to assist in the battle, instead, she opted to send Frandis Farley at the head of Forsaken units on her behalf.[22] During the attack on Northwatch Hold, the Forsaken, sin'dorei and goblin vessels landed the Horde troops on the shores of Southern Barrens, using their dinghies under enemy cannon fire.[23] After their success, the fleet assembled and waited in Horde waters near Ratchet, until they were instructed by Warchief Garrosh Hellscream to sail for the assault on Theramore Isle.[24]
Mists of Pandaria
During the Siege of Orgrimmar in 30 ADP, Forsaken ships could be seen among the Darkspear Rebellion and Alliance fleets that arrived in Bladefist Bay.[25]
Warlords of Draenor
During the war in Draenor in 31 ADP, the Forsaken navy was part of the overall Horde naval forces seen in the Frostwall Shipyard, including a great number of battleships.

During the third invasion of the Burning Legion in 32 ADP, the Queen's Reprisal was sent to the Broken Isles along with the Horde and Alliance armadas, fighting back the demonic invaders in the Battle for the Broken Shore.[26] The Windrunner Fleet later sailed to Stormheim in order to retrieve the Aegis of Aggramar, as well as a secret mission for Sylvanas Windrunner. While the ships prepared in Durotar, Captain Dreadwake and the Oblivion were sent in advance in search of the Vault of Eyir, establishing Dreadwake's Landing after their discovery.[27]
Upon arrival, the Windrunner Fleet was engaged by Alliance forces of the Skyfire commanded by King Genn Greymane and Sky Admiral Rogers, the ensuing battle scuttling the entire fleet in the Cove of Nashal and crashing the gunship. Among the sunken battleships, the Black Rose, which operated as a seafaring laboratory of the Royal Apothecary Society, released one of its more volatile substances on the shores of Stormheim when destroyed,[28] which began affecting both the local wildlife and the surviving crew.[29]
The Deathbringer was infiltrated by Alliance agents who killed Dread-Captain Graham and much of the crew, but also sabotaged the ship's plague cistern, causing a large explosion that sank the vessel.[30]
Battle for Azeroth
At the beginning of the Fourth War in 33 ADP, the Banshee's Wail was docked in the Port of Zandalar of Zuldazar, where it served as the command post of the Honorbound. It also served as a meeting point for Horde leaders involved in the war, and bore Horde forces during their War Campaign to the areas of Kul Tiras and to the Third Fleet shipwrecks in the Great Sea.[31]
When the 7th Legion reported a Forsaken warship off Xibala's coast, Halford Wyrmbane tasked heroes to ensure that their reinforcements do not make landfall.[32]
During the Faction Assault on Nazmir, the Blightcaller's Solitude was moored on the Mangrove Shore in Nazmir, where it was targeted and blighted by Alliance adventurers.[33]
During the Battle for Darkshore in 34 ADP, the Forsaken Fleet fought against the Army of the Black Moon, remaining offshore near the Ruins of Auberdine, from where they bombarded the enemy troops on the beaches. The ships and their crews were defended by batriders and ballistae. Tyrande Whisperwind eventually tasked the Alliance champions to use a glaive thrower and drive the fleet back.[6]
Shadows Rising
At some point, the Banshee's Wail was acquired by the Banshee loyalists and captained by Deliria Dawes, who delivered the loyalists at different areas in Nazmir under Nathanos's command.[34]
Shadowlands
After the Horde lost contact with their expedition to Exile's Reach, they sent another expeditionary force aboard a Forsaken ship to find out what happened.[35]
