  • Use: Coats a weapon with poison that lasts for 30 minutes.

    Each strike has a 30% chance of poisoning the enemy for 36 Nature damage over 12 sec. Stacks up to 5 times on a single target. 60 charges.
  • Classes: Rogue
  • Requires Level 30
  • Sell Price: 30c

Deadly Poison is created with the Poisons skill; the recipe is learned from rogue trainers at level 30.

In Wrath Classic, it is instead purchased from poison vendors for 1s.

Notes

Because Deadly Poison deals damage over time, it prevents any victim stealthing or bandaging for more than a second. However, its continuing damage will also break many forms of crowd control. Deadly Poison stacks up to 5 times, making it harder to remove with some spells.

Talents

  • [Vile Poisons] increases the damage dealt by Deadly Poison by up to 20%.

Patch changes

  • Mists-Logo-Small.png Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Removed.
  • Cata-Logo-Small.png Patch 4.0.3a (2010-11-23): Base damage and attack power coefficient have been increased by 30%.
  • Cata-Logo-Small.png Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Poisons no longer have levels and scale as abilities do.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small.png Hotfix (2010-01-07): The bonus damage rogues gain from attack power for poisons has been decreased.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small.png Patch 3.3.0 (2009-12-08):
    • In addition to its existing effects, when a rogue applies Deadly Poison to a target which has already reached the maximum number of applications, this will also trigger the poison which the rogue is using on his or her other weapon.
    • Another rogue using a higher rank of this poison will no longer prevent the lower rank Deadly Poison from being applied to the target.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small.png Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): The amount of damage this poison generates from the rogue's attack power has been increased from 8% per application to 12%.
  • Bc icon.gif Patch 2.0.3 (2007-01-09): Every rogue now has their own Deadly Poison debuff slot on monsters, instead of 1 for all.
  • WoW Icon update.png Patch 1.11.0 (2006-06-19): Stacks up to 20.
