Carrot on a Stick is a trinket that increases the wearer's mount speed. It is a quest reward from [50D] Gahz'rilla, which starts with Wizzle Brassbolts at Mirage Raceway in Thousand Needles.
Notes and trivia
- The quest that awards this used to have a choice of rewards, the other choice being [Speedy Racer Goggles].
- The effect of this item stacks with the [Riding Skill] and [Mithril Spurs] effect.
- The effect does not stack with [Crusader Aura] or [Riding Crop].
- It is possible that at some point, the developers were planning to add an enchanting formula that would allow enchanters to replace their trinket with a permanent 3% speed bonus to one of their mounts. Its only reagent was the trinket itself. Another spell would allow them to make additional "carrots" by combining wood, thread, and [Golden Sansam].[1] It was likely never implemented due to the idea to make mounts collectible in Wrath of the Lich King. The spells still exist in the database, but they cannot be learned by players.[2]
